WESSINGTON SPRINGS — Dani Schaller, age 36, of Wessington Springs, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at her home in Wessington Springs, surrounded by loved ones.

Her funeral service is set for 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 27, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Huron, with burial at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Yale. Danielle Ruth Kuehl was born on January 15, 1988 to parents Stuart and Betsy (Hornig) Kuehl in Huron. Dani grew up in Yale and attended school in Iroquois, graduating in 2006. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Yale.

Dani’s faith was important to her throughout her life. Growing up and through her adult years, Dani was always close to her parents; she was her dad’s favorite hunting buddy and her mom’s best friend.

Always a caregiver, Dani brought joy and smiles to all who knew her. Dani enjoyed going on motorcycle rides, cooking for family and friends, and getting tattoos. Since she was a baby, she had a special place in her heart for all kitties.

Dani married Ryan Schaller on October 8, 2022 in Wessington Springs. Dani loved life with Ryan and his sons, Nolan and Lorin. She was a wonderful step-mom to them. Dani was also blessed to be an aunt to Jaden, Cash and Piper; relationships she cherished.

She is survived by her husband, Ryan of Wessington Springs; step-sons, Nolan Schaller and Lorin Schaller of Wessington Springs; her brothers, Jeremy Kuehl of Huron, Brian Kuehl of Cavour and Cody Kuehl of Yale; her parents, Stuart and Betsy Kuehl of Yale; her nephews and niece, Jaden, Cash and Piper Kuehl; her parents-in-law, Lorin and Beverly Schaller of Woonsocket; and many special friends and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents.
