YANKTON — Lizzy Heinen cleared 5-1 to win the girls’ high jump for the Huron Tigers on Thursday during the First Dakota Relays.
Hamtyn Heinz had a throw of 99-2 to lead a trio of Tigers in the top 10 during the girls’ javelin. She finished fourth, while teammates Hylton Heinz and Alyse Davis were seventh and ninth, respectively, with throws of 94-6 and 86-11;
Josie Vlieger was fifth for Huron in the girls’ 3,200-meter run with a time of 12:50.07. Cameron Ruth was seventh in pole vault at 8-0, while Kyla Peskey was 10th in triple jump at 30-9.5.
Thackary Hansen was second for the Huron boys in both the 100 and 200 races. He finished in 11.21 seconds during the 100 and was 24.52 in the 200.
Bryan Ramirez was second for the Tigers in the shot put and discus. He had a throw of 50-5 in the shot put and went 146-7 in the discus to lead three Huron athletes in the top 10 of the event.
Anderson Porisch was fifth in the discus for the Tigers at 125-3, while Tyson Pfitzer was ninth at 114-11.
Kolby Hofer was second for Huron in the javelin at 137-3, while Pfitzer, who established a new HHS record with a throw of 149-3 at the Pierre Legion Relays on Monday, was fifth at 134-3.
Jeremy Hofer was ninth for the Tigers in the javelin at 129-6.
Micah Larson was seventh for Huron in the pole vault at 11-0.
The Tigers return to action Tuesday with a quadrangular in Brookings.
