HRMC Auxiliary awards scholarships

Posted

The Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) Auxiliary Board of Directors recently awarded scholarships of $300 to area students enrolled in higher education for medical related careers.

Funding for the scholarships is provided through sales from gift shops in the hospital lobbies and dues paid by HRMC Auxiliary volunteers.

• Elle Hoops and Mason Davis of Huron are currently enrolled at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion in pursuit of medical doctor degrees.

• Kelsey Schuchhardt recently graduated from Huron High School and will attend South Dakota State University in Brookings for optometry.

• Mya Thielbar is a recent James Valley Christian School graduate and will attend South Dakota State University in Brookings for nursing.

• Kelsie Roberts graduated from Wolsey-Wessington High School and will attend Southeast Technical College in Sioux Falls for nursing.

The Auxiliary supports Huron Regional Medical Center by managing two gift shops and assisting patients. Volunteers are often the first faces patients see. More than 35 Auxiliary volunteers provide comfort and companionship to patients and caregivers. For more information or to inquire about volunteering, visit huronregional.org/auxiliary or call 605-353-6565.
