Schmidt letter 7-15-24

To the Editor:

Yes, Mr. Busch, you can call Hunter Biden a felon, but you must also call your hero the “Trumpster” a felon as well. He was found guilty on 34 felony counts in a jury trial as Hunter was, so that makes him a felon as well.

No Mr. Busch, Joe Biden didn’t serve in the military, but his son Beau did in Iraq. Can you name a single Trump who served?

Trump’s White House communications director Alyssa Farah Griffin knew the ex-president well and had this to say about him, and I quote “Despite publicly praising the military and claiming to be the most pro-military president, there’s a demonstrable record of Trump bashing the most decorated service members in our country, from Gen. Mattis to Kelly to Milley, to criticizing the wounded or deceased like John McCain. Donald Trump will fundamentally never understand service the way those who have actually served in uniform will, and it’s one of the countless reasons he’s unfit to be commander in chief.”

If there are no microphones, he will call them “Losers and Suckers.”

Another gentleman this month was down on Gen. Kelly as he said that Trump called the fallen at Aisne-Marine American Cemetery “losers.” The National Security Council, and Secret Service were there as well, and though the weather was bad for flying, they could drive there instead. Trump responded that he didn’t want to go to the cemetery because it was “filled with losers.”

When Gen. Kelly mentioned this, Trump’s Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said it was “BS.” Well the duty of the Press Secretary is to make her boss look good for the media, so she was just doing her job. Others there heard it as well. Given Trump’s track record, I have no reason to doubt Gen. Kelly.
