The Onward Wolsey Business Association is proud to announce that Julie Boomsma has been named the 2025 Citizen of the Year, in recognition of her outstanding service and dedication to the youth and families of our community.
Boomsma has served faithfully as a school nurse for several years, ensuring the health and well-being of students while going far beyond the call of duty. Her commitment doesnt end at the nurses office she has also taken on the role of educator, sharing her knowledge and passion through teaching courses, including HOSA, where she helps inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals.
In addition to her professional work in the school system, Boomsma gives generously of her time through volunteer efforts that positively impact the communitys youth. She is actively involved in BYYYS and leads Shine, a Wednesday evening program for youth.
Boomsmas tireless commitment to education, health, and youth development exemplifies the spirit of community leadership and service. Onward Wolsey is proud to honor her as the 2025 Citizen of the Year.
