BROOKINGS –– State Star finalists were recognized during the 98th South Dakota State FFA Convention on Tuesday, April 21 during the fourth session at First Bank and Trust Arena, sponsored by the U.S. Army.
State Star finalists are South Dakota FFA members recognized for earning their State Degrees and demonstrating top Supervised Agricultural Experiences.
The results are as follows:
State Star in Agriscience – Atlee Olson, Belle Fourche
State Star in Agribusiness – Noah Felderman, Doland
State Star in Agricultural Placement – Carley Crist, Beresford
State Star Farmer – Riley Pankratz, Parker
The Star in Agriscience Award recognizes FFA members that demonstrate the top agriscience-based supervised agricultural experience in the state. Members from across the state engage in conducting research to better the agricultural industry using scientific methods.
Finalists in the Star in Agriscience category, sponsored by Glacial Lakes Energy through the South Dakota FFA Foundation, are: Karlee Klinkhammer, McCook Central; Kaylee Klinkhammer, McCook Central; Isabella Mack, Tri-Valley; Atlee Olson, Belle Fourche.
The Star in Agribusiness Award recognizes FFA members with the top non-production agribusiness supervised agricultural experience in the state.
Finalists in the Star in Agribusiness category, sponsored by Farm Credit Services of America through the South Dakota FFA Foundation, are: Bobbi Eide, Gettysburg; Noah Felderman, Doland; Mercedes Jones, Wessington Springs; Keagen Kettwig, Parker.
The Star in Agricultural Placement Award recognizes the FFA member with the top supervised agricultural experience working in the agricultural industry.
Finalists in the Star in Agricultural Placement category, sponsored by the Dan Streff family through the South Dakota FFA Foundation, are: Carley Crist, Beresford; Ashley Haven, Northwestern Area; Ethan Koopman, Tri-Valley; Riley Pankratz, Parker.
The State Star Farmer Award recognizes the FFA member with the top production agriculture supervised agricultural experience in the state.
Finalists in the State Star Farmer category, sponsored by Farm Credit Services of America as a special project of the South Dakota FFA Foundation, are: Darla Barnes, Lemmon; Taten Twedt, Beresford; Lacie Weber, Howard; Riley Pankratz, Parker.
