To the editor:
National Music Week is May 3-10 and is being celebrated by the National Federation of Music Clubs, with the theme, “Music … is our constant companion.”
I was introduced to music during my grade school years and always tended to be that one student who was singing at the top of their lungs, especially when it came to that old favorite, “Why doesn’t my goose sing as well as thy goose when I paid for my goose twice as much as thine.” After hearing me sing, my music teacher said I should probably be a tenor…twelve feet away from the microphone! Fortunately I married “Golden Throat” Barb, whose love of and for music extended unto every person she met. With her companionship we enjoyed many years of musical harmony.
