South Dakota FFA scholarship winners announced

BROOKINGS – South Dakota FFA is dedicated to premier leadership, personal growth, and career success and is therefore proud to support South Dakota FFA members in their post-secondary education. The following scholarships were awarded at the 98th South Dakota State FFA Convention on Tuesday, April 21, during the second session at First Bank and Trust Arena, sponsored by SD Army National Guard.

Continuing Agricultural Education Scholarships assist students currently studying agricultural education at South Dakota State University as they pursue a career as an agriculture teacher. These scholarships are made possible through funding provided by SD FFA Star partners as a special project of the South Dakota FFA Foundation. Recipients are: Ireland McAreavey; Abigayle Eitreim; Clare Rennie; Abby Otto; Britney Loerzel; Riata Bultje; Emma Bilka; Katelyn Zeug; Molly Hulshof; Ayla Young; Holly Hughes; Brody Knapp; Claire Burnett; Avary Helmrichs; Madi Von Eye; Jordan Van De Stroet, Maya Howard. Post-Secondary Agriculture Scholarships are for students currently studying any area of agriculture at a South Dakota postsecondary school. These scholarships are made possible through funding provided by SD FFA Star partners as a special project of the South Dakota FFA Foundation. Recipients are: Josie Nold; Elena Andrews; Madisyn Raymond; Karlie Stiefvater; Olivia Hadrick; Blaise McGregor; Kaiva Coleman; Bree Koepke; Avery Zeisler; Kylie Mockler; Shelby Pankratz; Hailey Kizer; Dustin Kolb; Emily Robbins.

Washington Leadership Conference Scholarships help defray the cost for members attending the Washington Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. These $1,000 scholarships are sponsored by the CHS Foundation as a special project of the South Dakota FFA Foundation. Recipients are: Ava Snapp, Hot Springs; Rachel Brown, Bridgewater-Emery; Brooklyn Wagner, Parkston; Gavin Reindl, Kimball.

The Mary Hanson Memorial Scholarship is for FFA members who are residents of Minnehaha or Lincoln counties and are receiving their State FFA Degree. Each recipient receives a $1,000 scholarship through the support of the South Dakota FFA Foundation. Recipients are: Leia Rombough, Harrisburg; Ethan Koopman, Tri-Valley; Sage Voegele, Parker; Trey Severin, Tea Area.

The Gary Grey Agricultural Education Scholarship is sponsored by Nicholas Grey, Ellery and Sharon Grey, and Kalvin and Carol Grey as a special project of the South Dakota FFA Foundation. The scholarship awards three $1,000 scholarships to students intending to study agricultural education. Recipients are: Bradyn Small, Langford; Sage Voegele, Parker; Bobbi Eide, Gettysburg.

Twin Cities Region Northland Ford Dealers, a Distinguished Star Partner, awarded four $500 scholarships as a special project of the South Dakota FFA Foundation. Recipients are: Lacie Weber, Howard; Teresa Melius, Northwestern Area; Jennifer Stark, Scotland; Brianna Gilchrist, Winner.

FMNE Insurance, a Four Star Partner, awarded four $500 scholarships as a special project of the South Dakota FFA Foundation. Recipients are: Brylee Wallman, Miller; Logan Warrington, Groton; Valerie Myrum, Sisseton; Daraby Boersma, Sunshine Bible Academy.

CHS Foundation, a Four Star Partner, awarded four $500 scholarships as a special project of the South Dakota FFA Foundation. Recipients are: Jazlyn Olson, Belle Fourche; Ella Fagerhaug, Wessington Springs; Ellie Storm, Sturgis; Mallory Carlson, Lake Preston.

South Dakota Corn Utilization Council, a Four Star Partner, awarded four $500 scholarships as a special project of the South Dakota FFA Foundation. Recipients are: Gage Wik, Webster; Carson Lee Wosje, Sioux Valley; Bailey Otten, Deubrook; Karlie Bubrant, Redfield.

RAVEN, a Four Star Partner, awarded four $500 scholarships as a special project of the South Dakota FFA Foundation. Recipients are: Jackson Cammack, Sturgis; Isabella Smithback, Harrisburg; Cheyenne Fuller, Sully Buttes; Harbor Blindauer, Mitchell.

The Wosje Agricultural Business Scholarship, sponsored by Chad Wosje through the South Dakota FFA Foundation, awards a $750 scholarship. Recipient is: Karlee Klinkhammer, McCook Central.

The Marsh Scholarship, sponsored by Doug and Clara Marsh through the South Dakota FFA Foundation, awards $500 scholarships. Recipients are: Riley Pankratz, Parker; Darla Barnes, Sunshine Bible Academy

The District 2 Scholarship, sponsored by Ashley and Jordan Wiesen, awards a $500 scholarship. Recipient is: Lorick Reid Pirlet, Lake Preston.

The District 3 Scholarship, sponsored by Brigita and Josh Timmerman, awards a $500 scholarship. Recipient is: Sage Voegele, Parker.

The South Dakota Nursery and Landscape Association Scholarship awards a $500 scholarship. Recipient is: Mercedes Jones, Wessington Springs.

The Blue & Gold Scholarship, sponsored through the South Dakota FFA Foundation, awards $500 scholarships. Recipients are: Katelyn Gebhart, Lemmon; Brooks Foss, Lemmon.

The Wade Lang Memorial Scholarship, funded by the 1991–92 State Officer team through the South Dakota FFA Foundation, awards a $1,000 scholarship. Recipient is: Hope Baysinger, Mitchell.

The Jeff Hoffman Memorial Scholarship, funded by his family, awards a $1,000 scholarship. Recipient is: Zetta Kuhl, Hot Springs.

The Ralph Rassmussen Memorial Scholarship awards a $1,000 scholarship. Recipient is: Landon Berg, Bridgewater-Emery.

The 605 Sires and Donors Scholarship awards a $1,000 scholarship. Recipient is: Atlee Olson, Belle Fourche.

The South Dakota School of Mines Scholarship awards $1,000 scholarships. Recipients are: Abigail Holmberg, Northwestern Area; Carter Fanning, Miller.

The Minnehaha County Farm Bureau Scholarship awards $1,000 scholarships. Recipients are: Aedan Klawonn, Madison Central; Mallory Gant, Platte-Geddes; Leia Rombough, Harrisburg.

The Kendal Thompson Memorial Scholarship, funded by DPI Global, awards $1,000 scholarships to students pursuing agricultural majors. Recipients are: James Kahnke, Florence; Taylor O’Connell, Philip; Carley Crist, Beresford.

The Fred and Joan DeRouchey Family Scholarship, funded through the South Dakota FFA Foundation, awards a $2,000 scholarship. Recipient is: Dannika Kaup, Hoven.

The Ernie Wingen Memorial Scholarship, funded through the South Dakota FFA Foundation, awards a $2,000 scholarship. Recipient is: Bobbi Eide, Gettysburg.
