An all-school reunion is scheduled for this summer for all former full-time and part-time students who attended Huron College and/or Huron University. The three-day event will be July 23-25 in Huron.
Registration is now ongoing and information is available on the Facebook page entitled “Huron College Alumni.” A block of rooms for reunion attendees is also being reserved at the Crossroads Hotel and Convention Center (605-352-3204).
The itinerary includes an early registration social at the Sportsmen Bar in downtown Huron for early arrivals on Thursday night, July 23.
On Friday night, July 24, there will be a meet-and-greet Pow Wow social gathering event at the Voorhees picnic shelter at Splash Central, the site of the former HC campus. Several sites in town which have displays of HC memorabilia and trophies will be open for visitors that afternoon. Former athlete and coach Steve Peters will serve as master of ceremonies.
A craft event and an Amazing Race Scavenger Hunt are on tap Saturday, before the main event Saturday night at the Crossroads. Two former coaches, football coach Glen Jagodzinske and assistant basketball coach Scott McCaskell, will be the guest speakers.
The Crossroads Hotel and Convention Center will serve as the headquarters for the event. HC and HU apparel is also available and can been seen on the alumni’s Facebook page. To order, contact Jeff McGirr at 605-352-6162 at Signature Plus in Huron.
