To the editor:
Dear voters, please exercise your privilege to cast your ballot on Tuesday, June 2. The candidates could be your next governor, US Representative and US Senator. These people make laws and affect legislation that make a huge difference in your lives.
I urge you to vote for Larry Rhoden for governor. He is experienced in the office and can hit the ground running when elected. He is a rancher and identifies with agriculture, South Dakota’s number one industry. He knows the value of property owner rights.
Property taxes fund our roads and schools primarily. We have good public schools. We do not need to fund homeschooling. What will we replace property taxes with, a state income tax? He has worked to reduce property taxes while responsibly funding state and county government.
The right to increase sales taxes has been left up to local government. South Dakotans believe in local control.
Governor Rhoden has shown he is a team player who is willing to work toward solutions with the legislators. It is not possible for a governor to come in and try to bulldoze their agenda through. Governor Rhoden doesn’t make empty promises. His word is as strong as his work ethic. He cherishes his family and wants to leave South Dakota a better place for future generations for them and also for your family.
Don’t leave the decisions up to someone else. Show up at the polls and cast your ballot on June 2.
