James Frederick Dreyer was born May 31, 1965, to Richard and Diane (Geisdorf) Dreyer, in Milwaukee, Wis. He grew up there and graduated from St. Vincent High School. From there, Jim attended the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point for Forestry Services. He was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa Epsilon.
Upon graduation, he moved to Huron, where he became Director of University Dining Service at Huron College in 1995. In 2006, he began at Dakota Provisions, where he continued working until his death.

Jim loved the Green Bay Packers so much that he has an entire bedroom decorated with memorabilia. He also enjoyed goose hunting with his friend Brian. As the girls became more active in school activities, he could be found at band and chorus concerts, marching band competitions, dance recitals and volleyball games.
Since becoming involved in 2006, he dedicated much of his time to his church. He also loved to spend hours wandering through Menards. There was never a sale he could stand to miss.
