Homeless public meeting set for April 25

Ron Volesky has announced a public meeting to be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, at the Salvation Army to gather citizen input regarding the establishment of a community homeless shelter in Huron.

Volesky stated that he would encourage anyone interested in the effort to take part in the public forum.

“The meeting is being held to gauge the public interest and support for establishing a homeless shelter in our city,” Volesky said. “I truly believe a local homeless shelter that is properly developed, administered and staffed is a necessary part in helping serve the needs of the homeless among us.”

The meeting will hopefully develop a general framework and strategy to move forward with a potential project if there is necessary community support.
