HURON — The World Vision Global 6K Walk for Water is returning to Huron for its second year. After the community gathered in May 2018 to raise funds and awareness in support of those living in conditions that do not provide clean water, the results of the event exceeded the expectations to mark a successful introduction of the walk.
Registration will open at 8 a.m., with the walk/run to begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 4, near Putters and Scoops at Ravine Lake. Participants are welcome to walk, run or take a stroll along the lake with family or friends, while making a difference at the same time.
The event host, First Presbyterian Church of Huron, had a goal of 30 people taking part in the walk last year. After the day was over and numbers were being counted, more than 50 participants in the walk carved room for future development. This does not include those who were unable to attend and therefore made donations online.
