• The Huron Board of Education will meet 5:30 p.m. Monday, September 11, at the Instructional Planning Center in the Huron Arena. The board will be considering bills for approval along with the financial report.
New business will consist of the Huron School District bullying prevention data collection from the 2016 - 2017 school year, presented by Mr. Nebelsick.
• Huron city commissioners on Monday will give first reading of the 2018 appropriations ordinance. They will consider a hiring recommendation for a part-time city engineer position.
Commissioners will consider a request from the South Dakota State Fair for security during the Wissota 100. They will conduct public hearings on a special event on-sale alcoholic beverage license filed by the Red Arrow Bar for a benefit Sept. 23 at the bar and the transfer of a retail on-sale liquor license from Bucky’s Restaurant and Lounge to the Tailgate. Commissioners will also consider personnel matters.
The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. in the municipal building.
• Beadle County commissioners will meet at 1 p.m. Monday at the courthouse.

They will discuss the two open positions in county government. Emergency Manage-ment Director Zach Nelson has resigned effective at the end of September to become news director at KCCR radio in Pierre and Veterans Service Officer Michael Lueck has resigned effective mid-October to attend nursing school.
Commissioners will also hear an update on the remodeling project at the community health nurses office.
• The James River Water Development District Board of Directors will hold its budget hearing and regular meeting beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday at My Place Hotel in Aberdeen.
Board members will hear a presentation from Brown County on a proposed drainage study and a presentation from U.S. Fish & Wildlife Services.
They will hear an update from the Brown County Mud Creek Watershed District.
Members will consider funding requests from a Sweet Township landowner in Hutchinson County to repair a dam and a city of Aberdeen homeowner to replace service lines.
They will hear a funding request for an open water sampling/testing project, and a funding request from the town of Mission Hill for water distribution improvements.
There will be an update on the South Central watershed project as well as district updates from staff, directors and the chairman.
