HURON — Dakotaland Federal Credit Union awarded 11 area students with $11,000 in college scholarships for the 2021-22 school year.
Twelve committee members from across Dakotaland’s 10 branch communities judged over 60 scholarship applications.
“The quality of scholarship applicants we review is so impressive,” said Trish Johnson, Scholarship Committee member and Consumer Loan Officer of the Watertown Branch Office. “I am extremely excited knowing there are young men and women like these ready to lead our next generation. ”
The following winners were each awarded $1,000 to use toward their continued education:
• Abby Evans of Redfield will graduate from Redfield High School and will be attending the University of Minnesota Duluth in Duluth, Minn., majoring in pharmacy and business.
• Mattie Huber of Huron will graduate from Huron High School and will be attending South Dakota State University in Brookings, majoring in psychology.
“I congratulate this year’s scholarship winners,” added Credit Union President, Ryan Goehner. Dakotaland takes pride in being there for our students through our Student Loan Program and the many other services we can provide our young members as they embark on their next adventure
