FRANKFORT — Arthur Gustav Solheim, 95, of Frankfort, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017, at the Redfield Care and Rehabilitation Center in Redfield.
He has been cremated and his memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 20, at Thelen-Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield. Lunch and a time of fellowship will follow the service at the Frankfort Community Center in Frankfort. Private burial will take place at a later date in the Spink County Poor Farm Cemetery at rural Frankfort.
Arthur Gustav Solheim was born October 5, 1922, in Redfield to Jakob and Silla (Solheim) Solheim. He attended Redfield City Grade School, Brink Country School and Redfield High School. He was united in marriage to Shirley Mae Compton February 16, 1946.
He was a proud farmer for his entire life. He began in 1945 and for 35 years, he did custom harvesting throughout the Midwest states.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; children, Rita (Joe) Jacquot of Martin, William John (Marsha) Solheim of Redfield, Celia “Kathy” (Gary) Rayhill of Martin, and Jeffery (Tyrrie) Solheim of Blair, Neb.; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and his brother, John, of Redfield.
Memorials will be donated by the family to the Frankfort Community Center and The Salvation Army.
