HURON – Six-year-old Charleigh Brewer won the National United Barrel Racing Association Peewee Championship for 2016 and the South Dakota State Peewee Championship for 2016.
She is the daughter of Lindsey and Charles Brewer of Wessington and the granddaughter of Jill and Ron Hins of Huron.
This is Charleigh’s second year winning the National Peewee title and her third year as the South Dakota Peewee Champion. She was presented a saddle and a buckle on May 13 at the South Dakota State Fairgrounds in Huron. Her faithful horse, “Moon,” was nominated for horse of the year.
Charleigh’s traveling companion is her grandma Jill (Vos) Hins. Jill won her fourth South Dakota State Championship and her first National Championship.
