HURON — A day after recording the lowest single-day number of positive cases in over seven months, the state reported one of its five largest new positive single-day numbers of the month of February in Tuesday’s numbers from the South Dakota Department of Health (DOH).
The state added 212 new positive cases, the third-highest single-day total of February, along with 207 new recovered cases in Tuesday’s numbers from DOH.
The added cases brought the active virus cases in the state up slightly, to 1,938.
Beadle County added six new positive cases and one new recovered case to the tally in Tuesday’s DOH numbers. The 79 active cases is the most in February for the county and the most since Jan. 17.
The Heartland Region reported 15 new positive cases Tuesday along with 12 new recovered cases. That brought the total active cases across the seven-county region up to 136.
