HURON — For the first time since mid-April, the new positive cases reported by the state did not increase week over week in the South Dakota Department of Health (DOH) weekly COVID-19 report. That was because new positive cases declined - by one.
The state added 971 new positive cases in Wednesday’s DOH report after reporting 972 the previous week. The report also noted five new deaths and 732 new recovered cases statewide, which brought the active cases in the state to 2,780.
Beadle County added 24 new positive cases and five new recovered cases. Active cases in the county jumped up to 65.
The Heartland Region added 45 new positive cases and 11 new recovered cases. Active cases in the seven-county region climbed back over 100, to 115.
