HURON — Monday’s release from the South Dakota Department of Health (DOH) brought Beadle County to a number that it hadn’t achieved since vaccinations were made fully available to anyone in the state aged 16 and older.
The state noted 446 new positive cases, five new deaths, and 308 new recovered cases in Monday’s DOH report. Active cases in the state were up to 7,927.
Beadle County added five new positive cases and four new recovered cases, leaving the active cases in the county up one to 92.
The five new positive cases bumped Beadle’s new positive virus cases this month to 90, the highest number since 139 were recorded in the county in March, before the vaccine was cleared for all in the state aged 16 and older.
The Heartland Region noted five new positive cases and seven new recovered cases across the seven counties in the region. Active cases in the region were reported at 206.
