HURON — Betty Joyce Schlotter Salveson, 84, of Huron, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2018, at Southridge Healthcare in Sioux Falls.
Her funeral will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 11, at the United Methodist Church in Redfield. Burial will follow in the Frankfort Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to the time of the service.
Betty Joyce Barrie was born December 2, 1933, in Turton to Oscar Barrie and Viola (Boynton) Barrie. She graduated from Bath High School, and was united in marriage to William “Bill” Schlotter November 1951. She worked for Spink County ASCS office in Redfield, retiring in 1992. She married Ted Salveson in May of 1978, and was a member of the Sons of Norway, Diners Club and NARFE.
She is survived by her sister, Marge Noonan of Huron; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Don Muellenberg; daughter-in-law, Penny Schlotter; sister-in-law, Marilyn Barrie; and stepson Butch Salveson
She was preceded in death by her husbands; children, infant Paul, infant Paula, Bill Schlotter, and Betta Joy Muellenberg; siblings, Loyal Barrie, and Norma Place; and her stepdaughter, Frances “Sissy” Birch.
