CENTRAL CITY, Neb. — Bruce “Marlow” Pedersen, 82, of Central City, Neb., passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at the Central City Care Center.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. today at the Emmanuel Reformed Church in Springfield. Visitation will be the hour prior to services at the church. Burial is in the Springfield Cemetery.
Bruce “Marlow” Pedersen was born August 22, 1936, near Meckling, S.D. to Ole and Bertha (Peterson) Pedersen. He graduated from Southern State Teachers College in 1961, and earned his Masters of Science in Education and his Principal’s Certification at NSU in Aberdeen. He was united in marriage to Donna Mae DeGroot June 3, 1959. He taught at Sunshine Bible Academy in Miller, and at Nebraska Christian School. He retired in 2011.
He is survived by his wife; children, Gregory (Paula) Pedersen of Miller, Julie (Jim) Eckhardt of Blackhawk, Christine (Anthony) Hayes of Rapid City; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; siblings, Paul Pedersen, Budd Pedersen both of Scotland, Harold Pedersen of Milaca, Minn., Sydney Pedersen of Oxnard, Calif., and Leo Pedersen of Scotland.
He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Pedersen; grandchildren, Michael Hayes, and Matthew Hayes; and brother, Larry Pedersen.
Memorials will be directed to Sunshine Bible Academy, Nebraska Christian, and Grace Bible Fellowship.
