DE SMET — Carol Hein, 76, of De Smet, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018, at Villa Care Center, Fort Dodge, Iowa.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 15, at American Lutheran Church in De Smet with Pastor Randy Koeller officiating. Burial will follow in De Smet Cemetery at De Smet. There is no visitation.
Carol Hein was born October 1, 1941, at De Smet to Pete and Dorothy Norgaard. She attended school and grew to adulthood in the De Smet community. She worked as a homemaker, in addition to various positions in the community.
She is survived by children, Terri (Saul) Hansen of Kan., Robert (Lisa) Odom of Hubberd Neb., Peter (April) Odom of Ariz., Todd Odom of Sioux City Iowa, Larry (Pattie) Odom of Clare Iowa, and Sue Odom of Fort Dodge Iowa; five stepchildren; 25 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; her first husband, Lelland Odom; siblings, Randy (Martha) Norgaard, and Sharlene Whisenant, of S.C.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her second husband, Ronnie Hein; siblings, Sharon Falconer, and Larry Norgaard; son, Tom, and his wife, Terry; and an infant daughter, Tonia.
