FORT THOMPSON — Charlene Azure, 53, of Fort Thompson, made her journey Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Sanford Chamberlain Care Center in Chamberlain.
Memorial service will be 11a.m., Wednesday, June 7, at Christ Episcopal Church in Fort Thompson. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery at Fort Thompson.
Charlene was born May 4, 1964, at Chamberlain to Lee and Ernestine (Middletent) Azure. She grew up in the Fort Thompson area with temporary moves in her lifetime. She graduated from Crow Creek High School in 1982. Charlene worked various jobs including the Lodestar Casino and due to health reasons she left her last employment with the Crow Creek Tribal Schools in 2015.
She was a very caring person especially to her grandchildren. She helped care for D. Grooms and Tyson Azure-Smith. She had many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren of her siblings she loved dearly and tried to keep in contact throughout the years.
She is survived by her brothers, Bruce, Darrell, and Danial Azure; many nieces; nephews; grandchildren; and other relatives.
She is greeted by her father and mother, sisters, Laurel and Camilla, brother, Leonard; grandparents, Ernest and Adeline (Red Day) Middletent, and Patrick and Ida (Toomes) Azure; and other relatives and friends.
Luze Funeral Home of Highmore has been entrusted with Charlene’s arrangements.
