STILLWATER, Okla. — Charles L. Leider, 86, of Stillwater, Okla., passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019, in Houston, Texas.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m., today, at St. Agatha Catholic Church in Howard. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery at Howard.
Charles was born October 12, 1932, in Howard, to Dr. Louis and Ardath Willoughby Leider. After graduating from St. Agatha High School, he served for two years in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to E. Yuvone Fleming in 1965, in Louisville, Ky.
He was a graduate of Michigan State University in Landscape Architecture, Yale University with a master’s degree in city planning, and a PhD in Environmental Science with an emphasis on the Preservation of Cultural Resources from Oklahoma State University. He was involved in preparing several hundred planning projects across the United States, and overseas in Saudi Arabia and Qatar. He received the Landscape Architecture Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2011, from Michigan State University.
He is survived by his wife, Yuvone; and two sons, Chuck (Lisa), and Steve (Grace); and four grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his siblings, John, Mark, and Barbara Ann; and his parents.
