SIOUX FALLS — Curtis L. “Curt” Losing, 86, of Sioux Falls, passed away Monday, October 9, 2017, at Avera Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls.
His funeral service will be 11 a.m., Friday, October 13, at Good News Reformed Church in Sioux Falls with interment and military rites in Hills of Rest Cemetery. Visitation begins at 5 p.m. Thursday at George Boom Funeral Home and Crematory in Sioux Falls where the family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. and prayers will be said at 7 p.m.
Curtis LeRoy Losing was born January 22, 1931, in Woonsocket to Henry and Pauline Losing. He was united in marriage to Virginia “Ginnie” Johnson March 14, 1954. They lived in Alpena and Huron before settling in Sioux Falls in 1963. After Ginnie’s passing in 2008, he met and married Elaine Hardin. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service until retiring in 1992. He then worked delivering flowers and volunteered at the VA in retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine; children, Jim Losing, Debbie (Walt) Babcock, and Julie (Kip) LaFrenz; three stepsons, Terry, Robert, and David Spitznagel; four grandchildren; three-great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; brother, Elmer (Myrna) Losing; and sister, EllaMae (Allen) Hofer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ginnie; and sister, Betty.
