WINFRED — Elaine (Koepsell) Schwader, 89, of Winfred, passed away Friday, March 2, 2018.
Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 7, at Sun Prairie Baptist Church in rural Salem with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon on Tuesday with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Willoughby Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m.
Elaine Victoria Koepsell was born Sept 18, 1928, in Canova to John and Lydia (Wobig) Koepsell. She graduated from Canova High School in 1946. She obtained her teaching certificate from General Beadle in Madison.
She was united in marriage Robert (Bob) Schwader December 20, 1953. They farmed northwest of Winfred. She was an active member of Sun Prairie Baptist Church of Salem, the Prairie Village Women’s Auxiliary, the Town & Country Squares dance club.
She is survived by her children, Dianne (Jim) Larson of De Smet, Nelda Schwader of Sioux Falls, John (Dani) Schwader of Winfred, and Lois (Mike) Schwader-Sebert of Howard; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Lowell; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Sun Prairie Baptist Church Missions of Salem, or the Union Gospel Mission in Sioux Falls.
