HURON— A love of all things fashion and the urge to share that with others led Simply US Boutique owners Jessica Beck and mother, Sheri Beckwith, to open their store in late 2017.
Simply US Boutique is this month’s Business of the Month for the Plainsman.
“My mom  has a passion for shoes and clothes beyond belief,” said Beck, “and I’ve always liked clothes. It’s something we’ve always talked about.”
They started online, doing vendor shows, then moved into a small spot where they were open one day a week.
“Then in December of  2018, we moved into this location,” Beck said, “and now we’re open four days a week.”
Simply US Boutique is located at 2359 Dakota Ave., South and is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 5 to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
They extend their hours in the summer, and in the holiday seasons, to be more accessible to their customers during those times. The store has several employees who work together to help give the store a relaxed, comfortable vibe for modern-day girls and women to shop.
“I feel our community here really helps promotes shop local with family owned businesses,” said Beck. “We are thankful to be part of our community, and we are thankful to everyone who has supported us and made this what it is. We never thought in a million years it would be what it is.”
“We get husbands that will text and say, ‘Oh my gosh, my wife’s birthday is tomorrow and I forgot to get her something, can you meet me at the store?’’ said Beckwith.
The store offers clothing for all occasions, for girls and women in sizes s-xl, as well as plus and curvy sizes. They also sell shoes, boots, purses, gloves, hats, blankets, as well as unique gifts for friends and family to enjoy.

“If someone needs something special, like they are having a fashion emergency, they can always call us and we can come on in,” Beckwith noted. “So we try to make our business very flexible as well, as we are both working full time jobs.”
“Anyone that walks in our doors feels welcomed and our staff is awesome about that too,” said Beck. “Hopefully, our customer service sets us apart from others. We understand our hours may not work for everyone and that’s why our numbers are posted on our doors for private appointments, because we love coming in and making it special.”
The boutique can also get customized items for customers who need something of a personal nature.
Simply US Boutique posts photos on its Facebook page of the different apparel they get in and encourage customers to look through to find something they like. Beck and Beckwith make vendor trips twice a year to Las Vegas, so if a customer is looking for something different he or she can always feel free to contact them.
“We are also always up for doing events, whether is shopping parties or girls nights out,” said Beck.
