STURGEON BAY, Wis. — Harold Fredrick Lindhorst, 84, of Sturgeon Bay, Wis., passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017, of Parkinson’s.
A memorial service was held Friday July 28.
He was born December 6, 1932, in Wolsey, to Frederick and Fernanda (Lenz) Lindhorst. He graduated from Wolsey High School and attended Lutheran Teacher’s College in Seward, N.D. graduating in 1961, with a B.A. in education.
He was united in marriage to Mary Catherine Tordt August 9, 1958, in Rockford, Ill. He taught school for 18 years and was a security guard for the Door County Memorial Hospital in Sturgeon Bay, Wis. for 15 years. He was very active at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay, Wis. where he taught confirmation classes and directed the adult and children’s choir.
He is survived by his wife; children, Pastor Paul (Carla TenEyck) Lindhorst of Watertown, and Sarah (Phillip) Weidner of Sturgeon Bay, Wis.; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Adeline Jungemann of Wolsey, Florence Adermann, Ruth (Stanley) Pakulla, Bunny Tordt, William (Billie) Tordt, Sheila (Roy) Tordt.
He was preceded in death by his brother, John Lindhorst; infant brother; brothers-in-law, Alfred Jungemann of Wolsey, Raymond Adermann, Nichalos Garbis, and Steven Tordt; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Forbes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Peter’s Lutheran School and Church.
