Three Huron youth competed at the 18th annual National Field Archery Association’s 2018 Vegas Shoot, which is known as the largest - and most prestigious - indoor archery tournament in the world.
Ethan Bartholow finished third in the male “Cub” compound bow division, for shooters 12-and-under. Bartholow, the son of Mike and LeAnn Bartholow, finished with 577 points, including 15 bullseyes in his 60 shots, putting him one point behind Caleb Quiocho of California. He received a medal, a plaque and a $750 check for his second-place finish in a field of approximately 70 shooters
Maggie Perry, shooting in the female “Cub” recurve bow division, finished in 10th place in the 20-person division. Her 449 score was only two points out of ninth. The winning score in the division was 565 points.
Maggie’s older sister Madison, shooting in 12-14-year-old “Youth” compound bow division, finished 41st in the 100-shooter field, with a score of 558 points, a scarce 10 points out a top-30 finish.
