HURON — Jessica Ormsmith, MD, a family medicine physician, has joined the Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) medical staff, according to Erick Larson, president and CEO for HRMC.
Dr. Ormsmith began practice at the HRMC Physicians Clinic on Jan. 9, and will care for patients of all ages.
“We’re happy to welcome Dr. Ormsmith to our team of care providers,” said Larsen. “She brings experience, knowledge and a desire to provide personal, compassionate care to each of her patients.”
Dr. Ormsmith earned her Doctor of Medicine at the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va, and completed her residency at Chesterfield Family Practice Residency Program.
Dr. Ormsmith is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is experienced in the clinic setting as well as inpatient, post-acute care and long-term care settings.
Originally from Virginia, she moved to South Dakota three years ago when her husband, Dr. Michael Ormsmith, began work as Superintendent of Schools for the Wessington Springs School District.
The couple live in Wessington Springs with their two daughters. When she is not caring for patients, Dr. Ormsmith enjoys singing, traveling and treasures any time she can spend at the beach.
