HURON — Huron Regional Medical Center has updated its visitor guidelines to allow visitors and support persons in good health to visit and accompany patients to the hospital, HRMC Physicians Clinic, HRMC ProRehab and Women’s Wellness Center.
Due to lower COVID-19 transmission rate in the community, restrictions implemented more than a year ago in March 2020 are being lifted at this time. This allows patients to receive visitors similar to prepandemic practices in all aspects of hospital care, including the inpatient care units, emergency room and outpatient procedures such as surgery, radiology, clinic and rehabilitation care appointments.
To help keep patients and staff safe, visitors should:
Additionally, patients and visitors entering HRMC facilities will no longer be screened at the door for COVID-19 symptoms. They will, however, be asked to follow all infection control guidelines, including proper hand hygiene, and wear a mask. Patients, visitors and support persons may bring their own mask or may opt to wear one available at facility entrances. Department directors may restrict visitors for the safety and care of our patients, when appropriate.
To aid in the safety of our community HRMC continues to encourage residents to get a COVID-19 vaccine if they have not done so. Vaccination is available at all clinics and pharmacies in the community. More information about vaccination locations is available online at www.huronregional.org/COVID-19.
