The Huron Musicale club recently awarded a total of $1,000 in scholarships to be used for summer music camps.
Scholarship recipients included Lydia Beck, Jonah Beck, Noah Beck, Isabel Blom, Kate Hamilton, Nick Kleinsasser, Zoe Martin, Sydnee Mitch, Sike Ma Noke, Joshua Olivo, Angel Olivo Porcayo, Sebastian Olivio. Jayda Peterson, Kelsey Schuchhardt, Anthony Sorto, Griffin Storm, Abigail Trandall and Joy Trautman.
Director of the Huron Summer Orchestra Camp is Beth Neitzert.
Camps attended included Rushmore National Music Camp, 4-H Performing Arts, S.D. Senior Honor Choir, SDSU All-State Music Camp, and USD Music Camp.
Scholarship donations are collected at the intermission of the Huron Area Concert Association Series during the year and divided amongst the students according to cost of the camp.
Huron Musicale members include Janis Andol, Beverly Bigge, Melanie Kludt, Dianne Perry, Deborah Sattgast, Jackie Spillum and Barb Valer.
Huron Area Concert Association members also provided refreshments for the concerts.
