‘I Made a Difference’ program to begin

Nomination forms now being accepted to choose weekly winners for award

Posted

Summer is just around the corner and people are starting to plant flowers, mow lawns, work on landscape and many other projects to improve their homes and surroundings.
The Huron Community Improvement Committee would like to invite you to participate in the “I Made a Difference” program to show your appreciation.

The program is designed to recognize the efforts of individuals who enhance our community by making improvements to their homes. Some of these improvements include sidewalk replacement, removing old trees and shrubs, landscaping, painting, siding or general cleanup.
One winner will be chosen each week beginning June 5. Winners will receive a U.S. flag from the VFW and Ladies Auxiliary Post 1776, a gift card from Lewis, gift certificates from East River Nursery and Dakota Provisions and a gift from Runnings.
Individuals can be nominated by someone or they can nominate themselves. The selection of the weekly winner is based on information submitted on the nomination form.
Nomination forms can be picked up at the Park and Rec Department in the Campus Center or can be found on the Huron website, www.huronsd.com. You can also send an email to Denise Matson at noelmatson@hur.midco.net or text or call 353-4301.
