IROQUOIS — The Iroquois Elementary Student Council participated in the collection of items for Buddy Baskets for veterans, sponsored by the Unit 280 American Legion Auxiliary.
The students held a change war among the elementary classes and raised more than $250.
Community donations were also collected, and with the money, the student council shopped for items to fill baskets for local veterans in need.
Buddy Baskets, containers filled with common household goods, help meet those needs for veterans and military families in these situations. These baskets are part of a project started by The American Legion Family in Virginia several years ago.
