CHAMBERLAIN — Jerry Alan Tounsley, 77, of Chamberlain, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018. at home.
Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 8, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Chamberlain. Burial of the ashes will be at a later date.
Jerry Alan Tounsley was born at Lake Preston to Charles and Letha (Munger) Tounsley. He attended school in De Smet where he graduated. He was united in marriage to Marilyn June Olson November 1959, at De Smet. He then attended Barber School.
Jerry enjoyed golfing, fishing, art work, family gatherings, and coffee with friends. In May of 2013, Jerry and Marilyn moved to Chamberlain.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his four children, Wendy (Arden) Bergeleen, Donald (Diane), Teresa (Craig) Fonder, and Robert (Brianne); 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two half-brothers, Alan (Wanda) Tounsley, and Gary (Diane) Tounsley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Charles and Letha Tounsley; an older brother John; the aunt and uncle who raised him, Louie and Lola Snyder; two special cousins, Lenore Johnson, and Dale Snyder; and many other cousins, nieces and nephews.
