REDFIELD — Letha Jay (Kopplin) Gallup, 73, of Redfield, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018, at at the Huron Regional Medical Center.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m., Friday, September 21, at the Hyke Funerl Home in Redfield with Oastor Adrian Timmons officiating. Interment will take place in Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield.
Letha Jay Kopplin was born on February 9, 1945, in Huron to Milton Sr. and Ruby (Harms) Kopplin. She graduated from Tulare High School in 1963, and then from Northern State University in Aberdeen with a degree in K-8 Elementary Education.
She was united in marriage to Thomas Gallup December 17, 1966. She taught school in Redfield for 39 years.
She is survived by her husband; children, Jolene Gallup of Chandler, Ariz., and Gerri (Greg Roggenthen) Gallup of Frankfort; siblings, Milton Jr. (Dorothy) Kopplin of Tulare, Reta Rose Nelson of Madison, Joan Trenhaile of Brookings, twin sister, Leota Vance of Brookings, and, Bruce (Anita) Kopplin of Hitchcock; a brother-in-law; numerous nieces; nephews; and nine fur-grandbabies.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers-in-law; and her beloved Gertie.
