REDFIELD — Lonnie “Lon” Philpott, 73, of Redfield passed away Friday, September 22, 2017, at the Redfield Care and Rehabilitation Center.
He was cremated and no services will be held.
Lonnie “Lon” Philpott was born March 13, 1944, in Kentucky to Casey Philpott and Captolia Thompson. He grew up on a farm in Indiana and attended a country-like school where he completed his high school education.
He served 29 years with the Indiana State Police and retired from duty over 20 years ago. He moved to Redfield a few years ago as he enjoyed the pheasant hunting in the area. He moved to the Redfield Care and Rehabilitation Center in 2016, and enjoyed watching movies.
He is survived by his son, Gregory Philpott, of Houston, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and one sister.
