HURON — Marguerite Blaine, 84, of Huron, passed way Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at the SunQuest Healthcare Center.
Her memorial mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 27, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Custer City Cemetery at Custer. Visitation is today from 1 to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. scripture service Friday evening.
Marguerite was born October 16, 1932, in Winner to Carl and Mary (Rodgers) Diez. She graduated from Mission High School and attended Black Hills State College. After earning a teaching certificate, she taught country school for a short period of time.
She was united in marriage to Francis C. Blaine June 7, 1952. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, card playing, a good joke and laughter. She was full of life and always a good friend to all. Music surrounded her. She played piano and sang in church choirs for many years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
She is survived by her children, Joan Robley of Phoenix, Ariz., Marilyn (Dave) DeBoer of Huron, Mark (Lisa) Blaine of Omaha, Neb., Christine (Jerry) Rahn of Sioux Falls, and Francis (Cheryl) Blaine of Charles City, Iowa; nineteen grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; sisters, Dorothy in infancy, Adele, Ellen, and Nellie; and brothers, Don, Roger, Jim, Carl and Bob.
