HOWARD — Mark J. Breuer, 90, of Howard, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018, at Madison Regional Health Care.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 p.m., today at St. Agatha Catholic Church in Howard with burial to follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Mark was born August 16, 1927, to Nick and Mary (Miller) Breuer. He graduated in 1945 from St. Agatha School in Howard. He enlisted in the U.S. Naval V-5 Aviation Pilot Training Program. After the war he received a Commercial Pilot and Instructors License and started an aerial crop spraying business retiring in 1986.
He was united in marriage to Donna M. Mack in 1955. He was a member of St. Agatha Catholic Church, Howard American Legion, the Experimental Aircraft Association, Howard School Board, Sunrise Terrace Board Chairman, the Good Samaritan Board and the South Dakota Aviation Trades Association. He received the F.A.A. Wright Brothers ‘Master Pilot’ award for over 50 years of safe flying.
 He is survived by his children, Cindy (Dan) Callies of Howard, Sandra Breuer of Boise, Idaho, Nancy Grassel of Spearfish, Tim Breuer (Rachel Winer) of Boise, Idaho, Sara Breuer (Tim Mateer) of Austin, Texas, and Terry (Dianne) Breuer of Southlake, Texas; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; and siblings, Robert, Vince, and Joan Delaney.
