ZELL —Maxine Elizabeth (Appel) Stemper, 84, of Zell, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2020.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Monday at St. Mary’s Chapel in Zell. Visitation will be Sunday, from 5 to 7 p.m., at St. Mary’s Chapel in Zell. Family will be present from 5 to 5:30 p.m., and again at 6:30 p.m.
A Scriptural Prayer Service and Rosary will begin at 7 p.m.
Maxine Elizabeth Appel was born in Redfield on November 9, 1935, to Simon and Bertha (Ecker) Appel. On Oct. 28, 1954, she married Cletus Stemper.
She is survived by her children, Kathi (Roger) Anderson, Bill (Tamara) Stemper, Dennis (Jacki) Stemper, Dorrine (Steve) Ellenson, Pete (Jean) Stemper, and Nancy (Bruce) Blume; a brother, Roger (Barb) Appel; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; sisters, Nellie Lutter, Margaret Haider, Doris Kirrin, Bernice Walz, Marion Thiel, and Lucille Brindley; and brothers, Walter Appel and Edward Appel.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home of Redfield.
