HURON — Michael ‘Mike’ Monti, 49, of Huron, passed away Friday, January 19, 2018, at Huron Regional Medical Center.
Cremation has taken place and his memorial service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, January 25, at Welter Funeral Home in Huron.
Michael “Mike” Francis Monti was born February 22, 1968, in Cambridge, Mass. to Louis and Barbara Monti. He enjoyed playing sports and received a baseball scholarship to Huron College.
His hobbies included cooking Italian meals, cheering for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and spending time with his daughter and grandchildren.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara Monti of Pinellas Park, Fla.; daughter, Layla (Eric) Jacobs of Huron; grandchildren, Rage Kjellerson, Zeplin Ransom, Ziggy, Eleanor, and Harrison Jacobs, Kailee, Ericka, and Thomas; siblings, Louis Monti, Jr. of Pinellas Park, Fla., and Doree Monti, of Salem, Ore.; niece, Lacey Monti; stepdaughters, Michealle Ransom and Sheena Schoenwetter both of Huron; and his fur-baby, Bella.
He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Monti.
