RAPID CITY — Rita Kutil, 91, of Rapid City, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Monday October 1, at St. Therese Catholic Church in Rapid City. Interment will follow in Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis. Visitation will be Sunday at Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City from 5 to 7 p.m. with a Rosary and Wake Service at 7 p.m., or one hour prior to service at the church.
Rita Agnes (Roache) Kutil was born June 17, 1927, in Woonsocket to James and Cecilia (Nugent) Roache. She went to live with her aunt and uncle after her mother died. She graduated from Woonsocket High School in 1945. She was united in marriage to Gerald Kutil December 9, 1946. They lived in Woonsocket before moving to Huron in 1961. She taught reading and math at St. Martin’s School for 20 years.
She is survived by her daughters, Joanne Oliver, and Janice (Lee) Keeney both of Rapid City, and Joyce (Robert) Murphy of Harrisburg; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Jerry; nephew, Father Dale; two siblings; and other family.
A memorial has been established at Rapid City Regional Hospice House, Rapid City, SD.
