HURON — Sandra Stevens, 63, of Huron, died Friday, August 4, 2017, at her home after a brief battle with cancer.
She will be cremated and a family service will be held at a later date.
Sandra Rae Stevens was born April 13, 1954, in Akron, Iowa, to Gerald and Joan (McInnis) Blake. She lived in Sioux Falls, Aberdeen and Huron while growing up. Sandy graduated from Harmony Hill High School in Watertown.
On October 16, 1971, she married Nathan J. Stevens in Belle Fourche. They lived in Belle Fourche after their marriage. In 1984 they moved to Huron where Sandra sold real estate for both Ace Realty and Chase Realty. She owned and operated Sandy’s Upholstery in Huron for many years.
Sandy enjoyed traveling and outdoor activities including gardening and camping. Sewing and decorating her home were also pastimes Sandy enjoyed. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Nathan of Huron; three sons, Travis (Missy) Stevens of Oakdale, Minn., Nathan (Julie) Stevens of Huron, and Matthew (Betsy) Stevens of Belle Fourche; seven grandchildren, Savannah Stevens of Minneapolis, Minn., Nathan Stevens of Oakdale, Minn., Kelsey Fuehrer of Huron, Cody Sommerside of Sioux Falls, Cassidy (Garrett) Young of Aberdeen, Aspen Stevens of Huron, and Alexandria Stevens of Belle Fourche; her great-grandson, Jackson Fuehrer of Huron; her mother, Joan Blake of Roseville, Minn.; and her siblings, Kellie (Alan) Palmer of Blaine, Minn., and James (Candace Hennagir) Blake of New York Mills, Minn.
Her father, Gerald Blake, preceded her in death in 2016.
