HURON — The Huron Chamber & Visitors Bureau would like to thank the sponsors and participants of the Mission Possible Shop Huron & Win Campaign.
“We had over 10,000 total entries representing $771,731 in receipts submitted by more than 250 people during our five-week campaign,” said Laurie Shelton, President/CEO of the Huron Chamber & Visitors Bureau. “The dollar amount is more than double that which was submitted last year, plus the promotion only lasted half as long as the previous one, which definitely shows that it was a very successful campaign.”
Michael Held of Huron was the winner of the $1,000 grand prize. The winning receipt was from Coborns in the amount of $269. Held was grateful to receive the prize and says, “the shop local promotions are an outstanding opportunity for the businesses of Huron and by encouraging people to shop in town they also generate revenue for our community.”

Weekly prize winners were Paulette Owens (a plant and gift basket from Rainbow Flower shop), Bernie Schutt (Double D cap and bag), Wenda Hornig (gift basket from East River Nursery), Dixie Dunkelberger (pillow from Carr Chiropractic), and Arnie Claeys (gift basket from The Mirror Hair Salon).
In addition to the weekly prizes and the grand prize, there was also a special small business “Special Agent” promotion held to encourage shoppers to visit small business sponsors.  The Chamber received eight entries from people who visited the 15 local businesses.  Clint Wormstadt was the winner of $250 in Huron Bucks for this special promotion.
The Huron Chamber & Visitors Bureau would like to thank everyone for shopping local and recognize the following sponsors for helping to make this promotion possible: Greater Huron Development Corp, Wyshbone Market, Dakota Provisions, Double D Western LLC, Anderson Furniture, Mirror Family Haircare, Sold By Angie Team of Ace Realty, Office Peeps, Huron Regional Medical Center, Walker’s Flower Shop, Merle Norman Cosmetics, Smith Jewelry, Sweet Trio Boutique, The Clothing Company, Dakota Restaurant Supply and Kitchen Store, Rainbow Flower Shop, Don’t Spill the Beans, Just Fabulous Upscale Consignment Boutique, East River Nursery, M-O Federal Credit Union, The Carpet Center, Potter’s Shoes, Nordby Rentals, Dramstad Refrigeration & Electric Inc and Carr Chiropractic Clinics PC.
