HURON — South Dakota State Representative Robert E. Glanzer, 74, of Huron, passed away, Friday, April 3, 2020, at Avera-McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.
There will be a private family graveside service in the coming weeks. A celebration of Bob’s life following the COVID-19 pandemic will be announced at a later date.
“Bob” was born September 13, 1945, at the Sprague Hospital in Huron, to Jacob S. and Mattie “Olive” (King) Glanzer.
Bob and Penny Glanzer were married in Bethel Church on August 2, 1968.
Bob is survived by his wife, Penny Glanzer; daughter, Sally (Brad) Burkholder; son, Tom (Stephanie) Glanzer; five grandchildren; siblings, Kenneth “Skip” (Juanita) Glanzer, Linda (Jim) Friesen, Gloria (Lynn) Schneider; sister-in-law, Patty (Jim) Gross; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter and Lillian Glanzer; and his niece, Mari (Gross) Hofer.
Arrangements are under the care of Kuhler Funeral Home.
