HURON — Stephen Eugene Troy, 73, of Huron, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020.
Stephen Eugene Troy was born in Milwaukee Wisc., to Francis and Doris Troy.
He was an Air Force Vietnam Veteran and a professional drummer for over 52 years. He held a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Iowa, and a Masters degree in Education. He claimed 44 years of sobriety as a member of Alcoholics Annonymous.
As a very talented painter and artist, his work can be viewed at over 15 VFW building exteriors, with scenes of war survival. He was commissioned to provide character portraits in courtroom trials, and was the commemorated painter of the ‘Sioux Falls Band Stand’.
He is survived by his sister, Beverly Adams of Denver, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
