Tom Jenks was born January 16, 1960, to Sharon (Maendl) and Darrell Jenks, at Huron. He grew up and attended school at Huron.

His first job was a bus boy and dishwasher at Harold’s Café, at noon and after school, while attending Buchanan Elementary School. He later worked at Randall’s, during the summers he worked construction. He also worked at West Side Welding, and with his dad at D & D Body Shop. Tom worked as the warehouse manager at Western Area Power. In 1999, Tom began work at Jack Links in maintenance and worked the next 21 years there, serving as parts manager at the time of his passing.

Tom loved to golf; he even had a couple of hole-in-ones. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved working on and driving the #7 race car for many years.
Tom enjoyed his many friends at work, in the racing community and his golfing friends who always cheered him on. He loved them all.

He liked to help and teach others to improve their golf game. He bragged about his hole-in-ones. His family will miss those times.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelsey in 2015; his father, Darrell; and grandparents, Ed and Anna Maendl and Frank and Mary Smith.

He is survived by his children, Alex (Braelyn) of Sioux Falls, Molli (Jerome) of Sioux Falls, Taylar of Arizona and Cameron of Sioux Falls; and his grandchildren, Haidyn and Jase, Landon and Nolan Jarvis and Leah Dee Jenks, all of Sioux Falls.
Tom is also survived by his mother, Sharon of Huron; his brother, Tim (Tena) of Rapid City; his nephews, Ryan and Brandon (Stephany); his special friend who was a rock for him; his uncle and aunt, Ronald and Leola Maendl of Huron; and many cousins.
