POLO — Victor Martinmaas, 93, of Polo, passed away Monday, August 28, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Society in Miller.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 1, at St. Liborius Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery at Polo. A wake and rosary service will be 7 p.m. Thursday at the church with visitation one hour prior.
Victor was born February 21, 1924, north of Polo to Werner and Mary (Schaefers) Martinmaas. He attended St. Liborius Parochial School in Polo. He was united in marriage to Marion Kolda. Together they farmed south of Polo. He was a member of the Polo-Orient Knights of Columbus and served on the St. Liborius Parish Council.
He is survived by his wife; children, Donna (LeRoy) Schaefers,
Linda Leddy, Chuck (Rodey) Martinmaas, Marilyn Burckhard, and Ken (Theresa) Martinmaas; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ed (Delores) Martinmaas, and Marge (Carl) Durfee; sisters-in-law, Celesta (Sally) Martinmaas, and Bev Martinmaas.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Carol Naber, Gerald Martinmaas, Werner (Muggs) Martinmaas, Jr., and Robert (Bob) Martinmaas; an infant son; sisters-in-law, Elfrieda Martinmaas and Lois Martinmaas; and two great-grandchildren.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Victor’s arrangements.
