HURON — Incumbents David Wheeler and Tim Van Berkum were overwhelmingly re-elected to seats on the Huron School Board in an election held Tuesday.
A total of 940 ballots - or 6 percent of eligible voters according to Huron School District Business Manager Kelly Christopherson.
Wheeler garnered 432 votes, or 46 percent, while Van Berkum had 377 votes, or 40 percent of the ballots cast.

Challenger Lance Calkins received 131 total votes, or 14 percent.
Polling took place at Huron Arena, although voting turnout was light in the school board only election.
Both Wheeler and Van Berkum have served as board president during their respective tenures on the board.
The winning candidates will be sworn into office for their new terms at the first board meeting in July, when the new fiscal year begins.
